Get ready for the ultimate day out at the footy when the Beer Footy and Food Festival partner with the Newcastle Rugby League to present their inaugural Brydens Lawyers Magic Round. The Beer Footy and Food Festival has become a much-loved annual event for footy fans yearning for a taste of nostalgia, packing out Sydney’s iconic Henson Park for the past 6 years. Now for the first time, the festival is taking its winning formula on the road, bringing a raft of the state’s top brewers, local foodies, and old school footy vibes to the Rugby League heartland of Newcastle.
In the era of big stadia, the Beer Footy & Food Festival is a step back in time to when going to the footy was a weekly ritual to look forward to, a day out for family and friends to sit on the hill, to throw the footy around at half time and to watch a bit of footy every now and again. The Beer Footy and Food festival is about bringing together footy fans, beer enthusiasts and foodies for a shared experience. The event celebrates community, and nothing says community like local footy, and that’s why the team behind the festival are so excited to be partnering with the Newcastle Rugby League to present the Bryden’s Lawyers Magic Round.
Magic Round will be played at Newcastle’s Sportsground No.2 and host all five games of the first round of the Denton Engineering Cup. All games will be played at the same ground on the same day, a mouthwatering eight hours of Newcastle’s finest Rugby League all crammed into one day. An absolute ‘Footyathon’ of epic proportions.
And to ramp the entertainment dial up to eleven, we’ll be bringing the Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA) legends along for the ride. The high-flying PWA will be taking the big hits to the next level. There are no mid-week trips to the judiciary for foul play amongst this lot. Expect plenty of high shots, low shots, late shots, dirty shots, and everything in between that you can’t do on the footy field. Good old wholesome family entertainment that will leave the most die-hard fans salivating for more!
But don’t’ worry, luckily as the name suggests the Beer Footy and Food Festival will have you covered, with fifteen of the finest craft brewers invited along on the day to quench the driest of thirsts, and an array of food trucks to fill the deepest of hungers!
